War crimes of the nazi invaders against civilians of the city of Bolkhov

The article uses the historical and analytical method. The main focus is on the systematic analysis of documentary sources, survivor testimonies, and archival materials. The chronology of events is being investigated, as well as specific cases of violence and humiliation endured by local residents. The article also includes comparative analysis with other regions under occupation, which helps to identify common and specific features of crimes in the occupied territories. Based on the collected data, conclusions are drawn about the scale of the Nazi war crimes and their impact on the fate of people. This allows for deeper understanding of the historical consequences of these events for the region and the country as a whole. The study shows that for almost 22 months the Orel region was under the occupation of German troops and their allies. During this period of time, the Germans and their satellites destroyed a large number of settlements, in which there were houses of civilians, social institutions, schools and hospitals. More than 80,000 civilians – the elderly, women and children – were killed, and about 200 000 people were forcibly sent to Germany. The occupation led to massive human rights violations, including killings, violence and deportation of citizens. The study shows the importance of preserving the historical memory of these tragic events in order to prevent their recurrence in the future. These findings highlight the need for further study and discussion of the issues of war, terrorism and their impact on society.Agencies
