Abstract

In the article history of creation of the international organization Salvation Army in Great Britain is considered. The religious and charitable organization was created by William Booth who was a follower of the methodologists who changed his religious beliefs. Having founded the Christian mission in 1865, the family Booth came to opinion that not only sermons were capable to help the person to find the place in the world, but also the help in food, clothes and accommodation would give to sinners the chance to begin a new life, and to light "a God's spark" in their soul. An important role in the development of the organization was played by the religious views of William Bout, who considered the beliefs of the Anglican Church to be unfaithful and striving for another doctrine, recognizing that every person can be saved in the afterlife, despite the financial situation. In addition, the author describes the structure and composition of the Salvation Army, resembling the structure of an ordinary military organization.
